In May, we went on a day-long hike at the Watson Lake Loop in Prescott rather than a campout. We got to go hiking and take in the beautiful scenery as we went geocaching, while Jeremy took charge and led us to most of the locations. Speaking of Jeremy, it’s worth mentioning that he takes the term ‘breaking in boots’ a little too seriously. We had not walked for more than 10 seconds on the start of the trail when his entire shoe sole fell off. We, as scouts do, improvised and came up with a temporary fix, after having a good laugh about it. We had lunch and turned back to the last stretch of the trail, not forgetting to get our fill of watching the car show that was being held nearby.
We had a fun hike, and you could feel the buzz of anticipation for the upcoming Geronimo summer camp in June. Everyone is excited, and can’t wait to attend one of my favorite parts of Scouting.
